Please study the website in full or telephone us for a copy of our prospectus, we will be happy to post one to you. Contact us to arrange a convenient time for an informal interview and tour of our facilities. Preferable times that enable a prospective student to get the most out of their visit and give them a chance to see current students in action and speak to both them and lecturers are Monday to Thursday.
At the interview normally a senior member of staff will spend as much time as needed to explain the nature of the job, the industry, the aims of the course, policies, aftercare and the way we deliver our training. We will also endeavour to answer any questions you have. This completed, a senior lecturer will then give you a tour of our facilities and you normally you have a chance to speak to lecturers and students. By the time you leave our aim is to ensure you have a clear understanding of the industry, the role of a make-up artist, aims of the course and that we have assessed your suitability.
Brushstroke will then write to you in a few days to confirm a placement, or give you advice and guidance on what you may need to do prior to joining us. Should you be successful and you wish to apply for a course it is advisable to telephone first to confirm a space then complete your enrolment form, terms and conditions and send them to us along with your passport photos and deposit, you will then receive written confirmation of your place.
Questions regarding fees, payment structures, alterations to payments should be addressed to our accounts manager prior to enrolling. Although deposits are non-refundable, given a valid reason and as long as we have enough time to find someone to take your place, we will normally allow you to transfer to a later course.
Induction for Brushstroke courses is effectively reversed, whereby the prospective student/parent/ guardian ensure suitability for a course along with our decision. Once you have discussed your requirements with a senior member of staff, preferably at one of our informal interviews or in detail over the telephone we will then write to you confirming our acceptance of you on your chosen course.
All ages attend our courses and are suitable for school leavers aged 16+ to continue their education and work towards ITEC, BTEC and Extended BTEC Qualifications. We look closely at the suitability of younger students ensuring that they are ready to train with us. There is no specific qualification requirement; although certain qualifications/ work experience can be beneficial to students and the merits of these are assessed at the induction stage.
